Good evening everyone. It is your host, melissa at Strange Duranche, beyond Insane. In tonight's episode we talk about Putt-in-Bay. Okay, so that is an island in Ohio, it's just under three hours from us. So our plans last weekend kind of fell through. We do this event usually well the last two years and unfortunately, like I said, it fell through. We do this event usually well last two years and unfortunately, like I said, it fell through and the plans the next day, so Saturday and Sunday, had. I don't know what happened, but anyways. So Friday night when I got home from work, my husband was like hey, look, you already took the day off of work and you were really excited about this. I want to surprise and treat you and Christina to somewhere spooky and fun. And I said, yeah, I don't know where we're going to go because I don't want to go anywhere like super far away. And he said we'll find a place that's under four hours, right? So he gifted us with this beautiful stay at Park Hotel in Put-In-Bay and it's in Ottawa, ohio. So we did do a lot of recordings. We did hook up with the right people there. The receptionist was awesome. Her best friend was also there staying. We did not know that it was the last weekend for Put-In-Bay to be open. So it was like this huge Halloween party and it was. It felt like we were in a Disney movie in like the 1990s, like we were in an alternate universe in Halloween town. It was just like vintage. It was perfect, it was, oh, it was. It was really, really cool. We couldn't have picked a better weekend to go.
Speaker 1:Okay, so, before I start with the regular recordings I want to do, I'm going to play for you guys our test recording, which is hilarious because, well, you'll hear, but I obviously mix countries up. Leave it to me, right? All right, let's start with the first one. So this is I named this one Test Put-in-Bay in Bay. Okay, so we're at Park Hotel in Ottawa, canada I mean Ohio, and Put-In God. Why can't I remember this place? Put-in Bay. I was like you last time at that one place where I had to say it every time. I can't remember. Wait, did you hear it or no? No, we welded it. Oh, okay, it was just a test run. Okay, that's what we did here. My hand's right there. We got Super Bear, we got Super Bitch. We did turn him off.
Speaker 2:And then we got Super Bitch number one over here. Super Bitch number one.
Speaker 1:All right, so we are live right now at the Speakeasy Red Room at Park.
Speaker 1:Hotel we are outside, it's pretty packed inside. So we're just kind of hanging out on the patio and everyone is dressed up in their costumes and we are trying to get in there to do some paranormal stuff and see what's going on in there. But right now it's super packed. But I think people will be leaving in like the next hour or two and it's open until 2 am. So Christina ran to the bathroom really quick. We are having a couple drinks ourselves, just kind of relaxing, kind of see where it goes from here. Some people are already kind of like walking out, so I'm hoping that whole room clears out so we can get in there and do our thing.
Speaker 1:It is 9.42 pm, october 26th, and again we are at Park Hotel in Ottawa, ohio. Um, earlier we were at the bar down the street and we were watching karaoke. The chick singing. She sounded pretty good at first, but she completely missed the high note. Like the mic went out or her like voice cracked too, and the guitarist started laughing. And then she started cracking up because she knew she started laughing. And then she started cracking up because she knew she fucked up. And then she said, all right, we'll be back on stage in a little bit. And she never came back. Put your mic on christina's in the house.
Speaker 1:She said it's um the breeze. I was like paranormal and I wanted something she'll let us go in. So she's only here till 12. They stay open past 12.
Speaker 2:Usually it's like 1 or 2.
Speaker 1:Sorry, excuse me, the band stops at 12. See, I knew what I said in the night, but I'm dancing. Harry, are you dancing? I wish it was connected yet.
Speaker 2:Yep One more. Yeah, yep One more time.
Speaker 1:We're going to get in there. I got a headache. You what I got, I have it in my purse. I have Advil. I think the sign is funny, though. All right, you guys, we'll be back on. We're on live, we're doing. I was tinkling, I didn't hear I missed that part, so I did so. Oh.
Speaker 2:Oh, oh, oh, we got.
Speaker 1:We got a soldier down.
Speaker 2:Oh, the fire's what's coming.
Speaker 1:I don't think she moved her though I don't think she, I don't think she fell that hard, I don't think she felt that hard. No, yeah, she did, she did. Yeah, you don't touch her. You're not supposed to touch anybody.
Speaker 2:I don't think that.
Speaker 1:Everybody has probably been drinking since noon. Now she's hugging the bouncer. That helped her. All right, you guys are going to hear the receptionist talking for the hotel. She really didn't want a lot of information about her put out here. You know so and I don't blame her. So we just kind of get right into talking to her because I I didn't record right away.
Speaker 1:Um, I wanted to be respectful, especially because of the fact that they hooked us up so amazingly that night. But here we go. Yeah, I mean, I have a friend like that and our birthdays are not even a whole month apart. No way, not even a whole month. Yeah, put it put. Oh, you don't have it on video. No, it's not on video, it's just on recording. Yeah, so ask questions, okay. So where is the most haunted place that you've ever been? First thing, where I am, I will. Okay, the most haunted I've ever been? Yeah, waverly Hills. Oh, so that's, I haven't been there. That's somewhere I thought Really, did you get that man walking in his gown? No, what did you see? So I think, the most like there's so much Like you'll feel it, you'll see it. It's pretty crazy, so the thing. So we went, they did a tea night and my friend's daughter wanted to go and her friend and she's like, and they're like, babe, we want to get ready to you know, go if we go.
Speaker 2:So I'm like, well, I'll go, Like of course I'll go. We've been a couple of times. Hey, how are you? I'm good. How are you Good, just showing some people around.
Speaker 1:Awesome, yeah, everybody loves to come see the hotel. Hey, yeah, everybody stops and has to check it out and then they all have to ask it's really haunted? I'm like, yeah, Right.
Speaker 2:Stay a while.
Speaker 1:You'll see so. But yeah, so in Waverly. So we went down to do for a T&I, so like they'll take you and if you've never been, it's huge. Yeah, have you been like? So, even even if they get like a big group of people in, like you can break off with your own people and that place is so big it's like three times the size of all these. Yeah, like you can spread out like it's. It's awesome for, like, if you want to investigate and do stuff, um, so I picked up on the spirit and I'm like following the spirit, like talking with a spirit. I get a name which I can't even remember now. So, yeah, we've recorded when we've been there and there was one, not just a particular visit, but another visit and we were listening to stuff like on our drive-thru Right.
Speaker 2:That's what we do, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:See, it's just a thing. But there was this one sound and we could not explain it. We could not duplicate it, we could not Right the bomb. We were by ourselves, like there was no one around us. Did you go during the week?
Speaker 2:And it was. I don't know if it was, I mean, like there were other people there.
Speaker 1:But, like, when we were recording this in the area we were in, there were not other people around us at all, so we never could figure out what it was. But so this other one. So we've got the kids there because it's tea night and they're all like, yeah, we're here, so, and I'm following this and I'm like, oh, and I'm like hearing, like not hearing, but I'm hearing. Right, you know what I mean? Yes, so, and I'm like I think it's female, like young female, this and that, and I'm like, oh, I get a name and this and that and so, like we're going down this hallway and then it opens into this like room, like just this big, big open room, and all of a sudden it was like like to switch and I was like it was not, it was like off or like like it. It was like it was not, it was like it was like. I have chills right now just remembering, yeah, it was like instant, like flip a switch, and I'm like I don't know where what I was following went.
Speaker 1:But I feel like it's the same thing. It was like tricking me, it tricked you, yeah, yeah. So it mimicked a voice. Yes, it did, yeah, and so like, so later like you do it floor by floor there, so then you have like so much time on each floor and then they have everybody go back and like the group meet and then like your core person, like because they don't tell you anything before, obviously, which you don't want to know.
Speaker 1:So the group comes back and we're all grouped together and she's like, okay. So a few things I can tell you about you know on this board, and she had said, like there's this entity or whatever and it will hear its voice, it will pretend to be whatever. And she said the name and the one kid that was with us like grabbed my arm and squeezed so hard and he was like that's what you said, that's the name.
Speaker 2:You said I'm like I know, dude, I'm like, I'm done, like I'm out, yeah, I'm good.
Speaker 1:So, but yeah, and then um, yeah, so that's and we've gone, and of course I've gone back since then. I've probably three or four times really, yeah it's really and it's in like Louisville, kentucky. Right, it's down that way. Yeah, it's, my in-laws live in Burlington and that's still like two and a half three hours away from them. I think it's more south than they are Because they're like right after.
Speaker 1:Cincinnati right, burlington, it's like the more north. So yeah, cincinnati's right on the border before you would get into Kentucky. So it's like 45 minutes, not even 45 minutes Like 35 minutes after that. Okay, so that would be more subtle, yeah, but.
Speaker 2:I mean, at least you would have somewhere not to like, we could stay, they would let us Hell. Yeah, because that's the thing they do.
Speaker 1:Like an overnight thing, like you get there in the evening and you do it and it stops at like 4 in the morning and you do it and it stops at like four in the morning, then you gotta drive home. So if you had somewhere to go, like that would be ideal because because you would want to hear about it. My mother-in-law yeah, she had. She just told me, like, let's see, my mom's been gone 11 years, so probably eight years ago she told me about her when she died. Okay, I told you about that story, sue died.
Speaker 1:They brought her back yeah, and I was like oh my god, sue, like I didn't know you were into this, she's like, oh yeah, I know, like because I was like, oh my god, I can't see her because I've never so many times, for a few times, handful I wonder if we want to be at waverly two nights, maybe because it's huge did you feel that nurse, that famous nurse that killed herself, she was pregnant and she had gotten tuberculosis.
Speaker 2:She's a nurse and I don't blame her facility.
Speaker 1:She killed herself. She hung herself. Yeah, she was pregnant, she was in a lot of pain and she knew it was like.
Speaker 2:I think in like like their room area or something.
Speaker 1:I know people like flowers, I remember. Yeah, I don't, I don't remember her name. Yeah, there's a couple places like that nurse and then I think there was like another patient and people will leave stuff for them too. There's a couple different that was the place with tuberculosis that they the windows were open. They were all yeah, because they thought that the sunlight would help them. Yeah, yeah, and like it's like. It is like if you go when it's cold, you're going to be freezing cold.
Speaker 2:If you go when it's hot, you're going to be sweating. Yeah, so you have to dress warm to go in the winter.
Speaker 1:Yeah, eloise, when it's hot you're going to be sweating, so you have to dress warm before the winter. Yeah Well, I like movies, eloise. We live in Michigan, so we were there and it was so cold. There he is, hi, how are you doing tonight? I'm good, how are you?
Speaker 2:Doing fucking good. Are you, president Bush? No, I'm Parker. Price is right. Another half, that would clue you in, you gotta put them all together. Sorry, that's fantastic. That's fantastic.
Speaker 1:I love it I love the big group thing. Oh god, I threw that one. Yeah, but he was, so we went it was cold, because I remember we drove home in an ice storm the next morning. We've done that so many times with paranormal shit. Yeah, oh god, you risked your life right there. Oh my gosh, I'm like I'm gonna go like this way, this way and this way and we're, oh yeah, driving back from Hinsdale.
Speaker 2:It was a complete whiteout. And then there was ocean on both sides.
Speaker 1:That was in January this year. Oh my gosh, there was a huge storm. We got 14 inches of snow. Oh, my gosh, we missed it all. But we were driving through it in to Pennsylvania was all ice See, I would have stopped long before Thank.
Speaker 1:God I have her. The guy in the back didn't help me at all, but she'll stay up with me. She is like my, she's my right arm. I was like you know what? Because when we get to our destination, it's like why are we going to book a hotel for one night? You have to wake book another one. So we get there. So we didn't make it there and we stayed two nights. So we slept in that first day until like 1, and we went out and had fun the entire night. But without her too, I mean I can't drive. Well, my car just made it yeah, hungry, need some snacks. Okay, those cheese. Those snaps are so good.
Speaker 1:Snaps are so good they are so good they're so addicting you don't have to make it better I eat them all.
Speaker 2:Oh, you do.
Speaker 1:This is a normal day eat some chocolate and be a little sugar. You guys gotta help.
Speaker 2:I give you an A for alpha. I eat that shit Castle. The other girl that was here earlier, she's like how you doing, ted? I'm like yeah, it's not her.
Speaker 1:That's my dad's name, ted Teddy. Teddy, he will call you a buddy Teddy.
Speaker 2:Paul, teddy Paul, she's like yo, I got Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for you. I'm like, oh my God, we were out two weeks ago. She was out two weeks ago. Okay, yeah, we probably were. She was like I got Reese's Peanut Butter Cups for you.
Speaker 1:I know I get excited, but then I get bummed when I see our snacks we won't have. We'll leave you a bee. I'm sorry, I got a trash can right here. I got it Because I'm used to it. Yeah, okay, sorry, you're good, I appreciate you. Was this a parlor? So I don't know exactly what's behind this door. Like I know we can't go back. I'm just curious. So that actually. So the apartment that is in the back used to run all the way out to here because that fireplace is like double-sided. Oh, so when, um, when the manager that's here now, he shortened the living room so we had storage, because the old manager would store stuff in his apartment. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And he was like I don't really want to do that, like I want it separate. So they walled off, so that's just like a storage closet for us. Now that makes sense, that's all. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:What do you think of the park behind the golf cart? I thought that's all. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's still on its own. No, it's not still on its own. Do you think it's here, or do you think it's down at the real bar? I guess it's the real bar. Do you think they bought it? This is my life. This is my life. I'm sorry, I tried. Do you think that I came in here with Hulk Hogan? No, you did not. I did. I did come down here with Hulk Hogan. Yes, you walked in. I did come down here to Hulk Hogan. Yes, I did After you went to the bar. No, it was after I went to the bar.
Speaker 1:I know, but I went to the bar. She's got a picture of Hulk Hogan. Are you in the picture? I don't know.
Speaker 2:I don't know.
Speaker 1:You said I can't go into the bar.
Speaker 2:Where's Bob for you, sir? That's right, but that was way before. I don't know about that. So you walked in with the castles. That's what I thought too. In here with the castles, I think I left a real mark.
Speaker 1:I think I came out here. Yes, I think I parked out back there.
Speaker 2:You didn't go look yet. No, you just thought you'd come and ask me where he put it, like she would know where you put it. This one here has been chirping in my fucking ear the whole time. I know where he dropped us off, but I don't know what he did after that. I have fucking keys and we're go, we're gonna go start a fire put a pillow over his face.
Speaker 1:I feel like it's probably out back. I think it is.
Speaker 2:I got like a 90% chance that it's out back. Hey, beetle juice, it's not beetle juice. I don't know. Thanks, it's not Beetlejuice, beetlejuice, beetlejuice. That's a witch, I can't find it.
Speaker 1:I don't know, I just heard what about Beetlejuice or something? Thanks, I needed to like seriously talk to her. I don't know. You're just a jerk. All right, go find the golf course.
Speaker 2:I got her an internet, didn't I? Yeah, and made her money.
Speaker 1:If I Give me the keys, I'll go buy it. That's not how.
Speaker 2:I act at all. Now we're at $100. Did you move it since we got down here? Yes, I think it's out back, scott. He lost our golf cart.
Speaker 1:We've been here, he came and asked me so where do you think I want to park my golf?
Speaker 2:cart. Where do you want it? I'm like you lost our golf cart. You know where to park it. I don't even mean to be a nutty, I'm just a cow guest.
Speaker 1:That's a joke, she's my friend.
Speaker 2:I don't want to be a nutty. I didn't come in here for four of you to judge me. We're not judging you. We're just trying to make some money. I didn't mean for one person to cast judgment on me. We're just trying to make some money. I don't care for that. I like your. I think I'm back in your coral, gary. You're on my band. I don't know that's what that's called. See, that's our coral. Those are the Nantucket red pants. Was I telling you about that, or, lisa? Maybe it's not about that? I think I'm back in your coral. What's he dressed up?
Speaker 1:So they are all his pants, so like if you see their shirts. Not him, but like, like our other friends that are out.
Speaker 2:They all have a shirt on with our friend todd. A picture of our friend todd in a different outfit and they wore the outfit. So they're like all the tots, like there's disco todd.
Speaker 1:There's yacht club todd. There's like beach day, todd. They did all the time.
Speaker 2:Oh, my god's awesome and it's pretty great, yeah, yeah, so See you at Roundhouse. Uh who?
Speaker 1:I think they're going home to start a fire, but I can't. I just give up. Like he called me like three times while I've been standing here talking to them. I just kept ignoring the call because I knew, Well, we'll let you go. Do you want to say your name or no? We don't have to say your name if you don't want it. Are you here tomorrow? We're going to be checked out before you leave. Yeah, I don't get in until four. Mysterious lady that had all the fun information.
Speaker 1:Here we go yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:After it's closed.
Speaker 1:Just do a paranormal, just like sit in there and like record. I told him to ask Terry, I don't know, he might want to come to there once. Yeah, how do?
Speaker 2:we get a hold of him or what do we do? He'll be right here.
Speaker 1:Oh, he'll be right there.
Speaker 2:He'll be here from midnight to 8 am. Oh, okay.
Speaker 1:Well, we'll still be up, so.
Speaker 2:Maybe give a good voice. Know that I mean it doesn't. If it says nobody says no, it's fine. You're probably gonna come and ask yeah, so cool.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't know, like I don't know of course, because the alcohol over there is, I don't know. Oh yeah, right, right right, I don't know what gets put up. Yeah, did you let them go upstairs, or are they?
Speaker 2:they have a room, oh, yeah, they're staying here.
Speaker 1:We would love to get into the basement if we're, if we can.
Speaker 2:I've never been that way, I have no clue.
Speaker 1:Maybe we can ask, if we can't do that, if we can go to the basement. I'd have to ask Jordan. Yeah, I don't know, because we have all our equipment with us. Nice, oh, so you got a way in too. Yeah, she's like she's like she's like she's like you do On the island. You love it here. So what's it like in the winter time? It's really quiet. Okay, I was going to say that I didn't know if it's tourism.
Speaker 2:That's the time we go, so everything shuts down in the winter. This is the last weekend for everything to be open.
Speaker 1:Really, the only thing that stays open is taxis. Just the one restaurant.
Speaker 1:Wow weekend for all everything to be open really, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. She was saying like the vibe of that, like just from, like the look of the hotel. So many people say that when they walk in here and that and um, I, just when I have to do my laundry, I just flip that light on real quick and run straight to the Smart your yard. When I get creeped out in my basement, that's when I get going.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Yep, that's smart though.
Speaker 1:Yep, yep, wow, yeah, that's cool. What's happening? Oh, I'm glad you came over here. I would have never gotten you. I did, I'm just glad it is. I bet it is. It's been all done in one hour. Yeah, even if we could go down there. Yeah, I don't know, I just feel like we're going to have to wait, yeah, the other feeling I had coming out, coming here, was from like dirty dancing yes, yeah yeah like a, like a resort part yeah, you know what I bet was a lot like that was the whole the victory in his house.
Speaker 2:She's a piñata so this is my friend that goes to Waverly with me. Oh cool, yeah, we were just talking about that?
Speaker 1:Yeah, Talking about all kinds of spooky stuff we love yeah, she's the one that got me touched at. Waverly Listen, I didn't mean to, I just Stay at home stuff. She's the one that got me attached to paranormal stuff. Yep, I love her for it. You're friends forever. Yeah, and she got into it a few years ago and she's obsessed.
Speaker 2:We've been there once you and I have been there three times, I think At least, and I've been there more than I've been there. Three times, I think At least, and I've been there more than I've been there.
Speaker 1:He doesn't do spooky.
Speaker 2:He does not, my husband doesn't either he does not, he does not like it, he is not a fan. I'm telling you if you're staying here. After midnight you can go to my room.
Speaker 1:That's great. Well, I am going to be here after midnight, but I have to take. Can I take a picture with you and I'm glad she popped over? Yeah, I like her costumes. That's awesome. I have to take Anastasia home.
Speaker 2:I gotta run her home when she gets off work. Oh, okay, that's why she popped over, like don't forget me I was.
Speaker 1:So this is very strange, deranged and insane. So this recording that I think I have in the basement, it says that it's 45 minutes and 6 seconds and this is kind of like where everything kind of started to happen there and it was early in the night. So it says 45 minutes and 6 seconds, but it only recorded like I don't know maybe a minute and six seconds, but it only recorded like I don't know maybe a minute. Okay, you guys, it is like 10.30, and it is well. It's five minutes to 10.30, so 10.25. So where it's blocked off, it literally looks like it's sitting on the stairs next to us, like right here, like literally right here. It's over 26. We're at Park Hotel, the historic Park Hotel, and the owner, her manager's wife, got us down here in the basement. We'll jump us up, which is so cool. So we only have like maybe 45 minutes. So we're going to make this quick.
Speaker 1:I just appeared. Okay, your mic's on right? Yep, isn't it? Am I blinking? Yeah, you're good. Okay, your mic's on right? Yep, isn't it? Am I blinking? Yeah, you're good. Okay, you put my little skirt up? Yeah, let's try. This guy it's definitely creepy down here. I don't know. I think I'm about to get y'all dirty, huh, no, no, I'm about to get y'all dirty.
Speaker 2:Huh, no, no.
Speaker 1:I'm sorry, and it completely stopped recording for us. Let's see nothing, you guys. Oh, maybe something I gotta see. Uh, we're gonna have to go through everything. We did get a girl down there, said she can't talk you guys this is crazy, so I didn't. It didn't allow me, so she can't tell. She kept asking what we wanted.
Speaker 2:She asked for holy water.
Speaker 1:You guys, this is crazy. So it didn't allow me to hear anything on this recording until we got back upstairs Crazy. I said I don't have any holy water.
Speaker 2:Nobody do bring holy water. Yeah, I didn't have it in my bag.
Speaker 1:I usually have it in my bag, but I don't have it this time. And then she said underneath what else did she say? I ran back there, so we go through it all again A lot of that went home.
Speaker 2:So then, after you know, yeah, she said a lot.
Speaker 1:She kept saying what do you want? I was trying to think the picture's like standing by the stairs. We have that's a spare bed. We have that. We have apps running. Yeah, she records. We got another recording here, yeah, so you try to pick up like a bunch of EVPs, different ways, you know. So I messaged her. What did you hear? A girl? She said she can't talk, she needed holy water, so we don't have holy water with us. And then she said, underneath, she kept asking us what we wanted.
Speaker 2:We got Louis what's?
Speaker 1:the other name, louis, and what's the other?
Speaker 2:one no over at your bed.
Speaker 1:How else did we get Louis?
Speaker 2:that was one on the stairs that said a name before that. I can't remember what it was. It wasn't Jacob that was upstairs in our bedroom, it was. It was a male name.
Speaker 1:Louis and Bob. No, that was upstairs, that was upstairs too, bob, yeah, we got Bob upstairs. Bob, really we got Bob upstairs. Bob, really, we got Bob Jacob upstairs. Yeah, jacob, with a K I may have to go through here, yeah.
Speaker 2:I'm like it was Louis. You know what Hank Did you say Hank? So the video from the closet.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we actually. You want to. You guys want to see this really quick, okay, you guys, I just lost out on a bunch of evidence. That's insane, and you guys literally hear me tell the ladies there I'm like she's got a recording going. I got a recording going. We have multiple a recording going. We have multiple apps recording. My iPad is recording. So one thing I have not been able to go through yet is my iPad recordings because I have to charge it and, honestly, I just haven't had time. But I also recorded us sleeping. So we're very interested to know in that, um, what was in that. I should say so right here when I tell the ladies you guys want to see these pictures.
Speaker 1:Okay, so Christina and I were taking pictures the same exact time of the same exact chair and closet in our room. I remind you, this is an old school hotel, so there are no bathrooms inside of your room and they're on the other side of the floor. Each floor, I think, there's two floors or three floors, two floors. I think. There's like six bathrooms on each floor on the other side of the rooms. It does kind of suck because they're public, like you have to use them with like the whole floor. So there's individual, you know six bathrooms and shower and toilet in them and sink, whatever. Where was I going with this? Um, okay, so yes, our room was very, very small, so there's just a bed, um, a dresser, a closet, and that's it. No TV in there, nothing. So anyways, we're snapping these pictures and two pictures I have of like this fog forming from the bottom of the chair up, and then it got a little bit taller, so like it went from like three feet to like five and a half feet. Christina has nothing on her phone and the two pictures before these other two pictures, nothing. So we debunked the flashlight because the flashlight was in the front of the room. We were on the side of the room. We debunked everything. Now I have gotten a lot of this with Christina and if you guys have read up on this or have watched anything on it with Christina, and if you guys have read up on this or have watched anything on it, you know, like the ectoplasm, if you haven't look it up, polaroids are a key factor to use. The one Polaroid one that I got for my birthday is out of film, and then my newer Polaroid is also out of film and we were going to stop and grab film on the way and of course you know we got, we got behind and we just had to get there, like always.
Speaker 1:So in the paranormal realm, ectoplasm refers to a supposed vicious gelatinous substance that is said to be exteriorized from a medium's body during a sands, often appearing as a ghostly manifestation and believed to be a physical manifestation of a spirit. In spiritualism, ectoplasm, also known as simply as ecto, is a substance or spiritual energy exteriorized by physical mediums. Um, exteriorized by physical mediums. It was coined by I'm sorry, it was coined in 1894 by physical researcher Charles Richard. Although the term is widespread in popular culture, there is no scientific evidence that ectoplasm exists and many examples were exposed as hoaxes I'm sorry, as hoax, like people did it as a hoax Fashion from cheesecloth, gauze or other natural substances. The term comes from ancient Greek words outside plasma, anything formed. So in spiritualism, ectoplasm is said to be formed by physical mediums. When in a trans state this material is, it looks like a gauze-like substance. For me it looks more like smoke, like fog, and it comes from a medium's body. Spiritual entities are said to drape this substance over their non-physical body, enabling them to interact with the physical and real universe.
Speaker 1:Some accounts claim that ectoplasm begins clear and almost invisible but darkens and becomes visible as the psychic energy becomes stronger. They were talking about I'm sorry, they were talking about gauze-like substance that they put over their faces, um, kind of like an Essie. You know experience when you know someone has noise canceling headphones and they're trying to um, you know, communicate either with the other person running an app or just the other person asking questions and they can't hear anything and they're just responding to what they hear. But yeah, again, like it says, like invisible, then it becomes visible. Still, other accounts state that in extreme cases, ectoplasm will develop a strong odor. According to some mediums, the ectoplasm cannot occur in light conditions, as the ectoplasmic substance would disintegrate. So I don't know.
Speaker 1:There's a lot of stuff on this and I did watch a documentary years ago of a couple in California that bought a house that was haunted that they did not know about. That bought a house that was haunted that they did not know about and there was this Polaroid camera that was locked at the house and, anyways, they got filmed for it and they started taking pictures all over the house and like ectoplasm was like everywhere it would form randomly and I do, I've seen it, christina, and I have seen it. And whenever I'm with Christina is when we see that you know, like different people, that you go out and do things with anything paranormal investigations or paranormal research. You're going to have different experiences with certain people, right? And for Christina, it's ectoplasm that I have with her and these aliens, like these literal alien beings, show up in her pictures. It's insane, like I cannot make it up. There's, you know, hardcore proof in her pictures and her evidence and no, we do not Photoshop that shit and it is literally right there to see, literally right there to see. So, anywho, I cannot believe I lost like 40 fucking minutes of evidence and it's always when I'm in a basement.
Speaker 1:I was just talking to Krista the other day and I told her I was like you and I need to go through all of our evidence. Christina and I need to go through our evidence. Teresa and I need to go through our evidence, like we all need to either like sit down individually with each other or as a whole group. And Carissa and I were reminiscing about we were going to do this TV show, I guess, like a documentary some bullshit at Eloise, that we worked very hard for it for 10 hours and never seen the footage.
Speaker 1:But anyways, um, I had my body cam on me. It was completely recording. I always make sure and we got into the basement and my body cam footage is all gone. It it shows that it's on. Footage is all gone. It shows that it's on, but it does not see or hear anything. So it's something about basements and no, it's not Wi-Fi or you know, if you have enough bars on your phone, these are just devices that record. This is an actual police body camera. Yeah, so it's bizarre body camera. Yeah, so it's bizarre. So that sucks. But there's more to come. So you guys just keep listening and I think you'll be surprised. Okay, so the best friend of the receptionist at the hotel had. She and her husband had rented one of the most famous haunted rooms there and I'm going to play the recording. Okay, so we are in room 14 with our new paranormal friend. What is your name? Again, janelle, janelle, janelle, Melissa, and she invited us to the most haunted room here. So I'm going to put my headphones on.
Speaker 2:I'm going to grab the box. I need it's here. I can't remember what side it is how far is that to the right?
Speaker 1:Can we turn it down a little bit, can you? I don't know? And it flashes. Is your light still? You, I don't know, it flashes. Is your mic still?
Speaker 2:on? Yeah, yeah, you're on. So how about I just open it down here? Okay, here you go.
Speaker 1:Are you serious? Again, this is happening. Again. 45 minutes of evidence and it's not playing. Oh my goodness, what went on? Wow, you guys. Whatever is in this hotel, I'm like I cannot make this shit up. I'm skipping through to see if I get anything. It literally shows so what I'm looking at on my recorder on my phone. It recorded but it did not come through and it was again over 45 minutes worth. I cannot believe this. I mean I can yep, nope, nothing. You guys, wow, wow, so I don't know. You guys. I hope it recorded everything else that I got.
Speaker 2:All right. I've never heard like my life, like it's one of those things where you're like I'm not alone. Yeah, you're not alone.
Speaker 1:That's what they said next door too, Yep, yep.
Speaker 2:You're not alone, I'm like somebody watching. Yeah, you can feel it. I'll let you do your thing.
Speaker 1:Okay, I'll let you do your thing. Okay, thank you so much. Yeah, thank you 1-22, okay, okay, you guys, we are down in the basement. I'm not taking pictures as we speak. We only have about 15 minutes down here, so I'm going to make it quick. This is right. How in the hell did I take pictures? Oh my God, again, again, what the hell you guys. Almost 30 minutes of recordings. There we go. Wow, that's weird.
Speaker 2:What did it say?
Speaker 1:Preparation. All you guys can hear is me snapping pictures. That's insane. All right, you guys can go home. We got the ghosts out. On the one here, they let us in. The next one, they just let us in too.
Speaker 2:Okay In the kitchen. In too Okay In the kitchen.
Speaker 1:Yes, okay, did you grab my phone? Yep, oh here. You've got to be careful, make sure that thing doesn't fall out on the bottom.
Speaker 2:I'm sorry, are you talking to William? Yeah, sure, they let you in the bar. We actually walked in there accidentally and they're like you can't come in here, we're here.
Speaker 1:Well, so much else we could. We thought we were in the other spot. Then the one guy walked us through. Yeah, he was really nice. Yeah, everyone's been awesome. Yeah, it's been amazing. Yeah, it's been a good experience here. I need someone though.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I need someone. That's why I brought the butter. Oh, it smells so good. That's why you spilled butter.
Speaker 1:I would too. There I go singing Um, you guys, this is so weird. So, like, every time that my recordings have cut out has been when it's only been Christina and I in a basement, or I think we were in that room, or I'm sorry, yeah, the room 14 with her friend, the receptionist friend and then when we come back into like the main lobby or we're outside, it all of a sudden works. So I'm missing out on probably like an hour and a half of evidence. But the good thing is is that my iPad I'm pretty sure for the most part was rolling the whole entire night. So I am going to have to come back and do a part two on this. That sucks really, really bad. I'm like, how does that even happen? Right, you know, but thank God I have backup. Like how does that even happen? Right, you know, but thank God I have backup.
Speaker 1:I did not take my body cam to this trip just because, like I said, it was so last minute. I didn't. I didn't really want to take a whole lot, I just wanted to be in the moment and get there. But I still cannot believe that it would only work when we were, like in the main lobby. That's, that's crazy. But I again, I cannot wait to go through my iPad and pump out some evidence for you guys. But you guys can kind of hear, like when it comes in and out it's it's like complete muffled silence, and then all of a sudden it's like, oh, we'll let them talk for a second and then boom, nope, we don't want them to talk anymore, or we don't want them, we don't want anybody to hear what we have to say like pretty much yeah, that place is definitely haunted for sure. Okay, you guys.
Speaker 1:So while listening to another recording which I thought was from the basement again of the speakeasy, oh my God, this is so crazy. Okay, so I recorded us sleeping from the iPad and then I recorded it on my phone. When I woke up really early in the morning, probably like I think it was like right before eight, and I got up and no, it was like nine-ish, it was like nine o'clock, so we had to be out by 11. No, it was probably 8.30. Okay, so when I came back into the room, christina had woke up too and she was like I slept so hard. I'm like so do I. I'm like it's just so weird, I can't even like I slept so hard I had to realize that we were where we were at, because when I first woke up I thought we were at Christina's and I'm like, what the hell, how'd I get here?
Speaker 1:And then I forgot we were not at Christina's, we were in Put-In-Bay, okay. So when I I stopped the recording on the iPad and then I had told her, I was like, oh shit, I forgot my phone's recording too. So I pick up my phone, put my fingerprint on, open it and it never recorded and I'm like, oh, that sucks. Well, this recording, cause I named my recordings. Obviously I need to to be able to know what's what, right, okay.
Speaker 1:So I started listening to this during this episode and I'm like what in the actual fuck, dude, there is something like breathing, like that, and then you hear these like little cute snores, like that. And then you hear these like little cute snores. Okay, I know that I can snore sometimes and Christina really is not a like a snorer, but there's no way that that came from either one of us, because then you could hear us breathing and like a couple of little cute snores. So instead of playing any of that tonight, I need to charge up my iPad and I need to watch that and then listen to this again, because I'm just like what in the hell? And I don't know how to explain, but like when we both woke up, like we were so fucking out of it, like we slept so, so, so, so hard. So, again, that's going to have to be a part two. Stay tuned for that, because that is wild, and I cannot wait for her to come over this weekend and get her hair done and for her to listen to this, because it literally took my breath away. I was like what is going on and who else? That's like what happened at um another location we had went to, actually to that we recorded us sleeping and even with the visual um of my phone recording, like like I left like the video on and that we had like three time lapses like where it just completely skipped out, we're like well, what happened? So obviously something goes on when you sleep. All right, you guys, it's officially witching hour, it is 3 10 am in the morning and of course I have to work and well, I get a late start on Friday, thank God. There is just so much more evidence I need to go through. I have to try to see if I can find anything on my iPad. I hope that I got what I'm missing.
Speaker 1:This episode is very lengthy. I knew it was going to be because we did a lot of recordings. Again, we went to this place pretty much blindsided. I don't know why I thought of Punt Bay. It just came to me and that's usually what happens with her and I Christina and I at least I didn't really do a lot of research. I did see something about a lady falling to her death. Now the receptionist I do not have it on recording because, again, respectfully, I didn't start recording right away. I wanted to feel her out first. You know you don't want to have like microphones and phones going on, you know if someone's not comfortable, but anyways, before recording she did talk about the receptionist. She said that the original staircase is hidden in between rooms, it's drywall off, is hidden in between rooms, it's drywall off. So the staircase that you guys see in the pictures, like when you guys go on our TikToks even if you look this place up, unless it's, you know, a picture from way way back those are modern, new built stairs. So anyways, going back to that, it is said that Put-In-Bay Park Hotel is haunted.
Speaker 1:So the Park Hotel has been a fixture on the downtown Put-In-Bay scene for over 150 years. Originally, the hotel opened as the Duchess Hotel in the 1870s. A striking feature of the new lodging choice was beds with springs instead of beds stuffed with hay. The first owner is believed to be George Schmidt. A newspaper article from this era mentioned him as the owner. Also, the Roundhouse Bar construction was in Toledo and it was later shipped to Put-in-Bay. Now where does the Hans come to play in this picture? Known as the governess perished at the Park Hotel.
Speaker 1:Allegedly, the woman fell from the second floor down the steps to the lobby. Islander children who have played frequently in the lobby have noted to feel as though they're being watched over by this woman, have noted to feel as though they're being watched over by this woman. Also, she's known to frequently be in the room 14 at the hotel and that is a room that my recording just completely stopped. So that sucks, and I know that I was not playing my iPad. I wasn't recording from my iPad at that point. So I'm going to see. I'm going to talk to Christina tomorrow and see if she has any evidence on her phone. I'm sorry, my dogs are freaking out again.
Speaker 1:Stop it, stop. We are babysitting our nephew dogs. My sister-in-law is in the Marine Corps and she's away, so right now we have five dogs at this house and two cats. So it's crazy, okay? So another incident of paranormal activity relates to a suspected suicide. Some speculate that an early owner of the bar may have committed suicide within. The legend includes a death by hanging in the third floor stairwell. Reports suggest the man remained looking down on guests in their bed and peering from the window in room 17. Also, this entity visits in the Winter Bar located next to the lobby. This is one of the most popular Put-in-Bay paranormal places.
Speaker 1:This magnificent home's construction was by Valentin Dollar during the mid-late 1800s. Dollar was an immigrant from Germany who came to Sandusky, ohio, in 1851. Then, in 1859, he moved to Put-in-Bay. He was responsible for the construction of many buildings, as he was a prominent and prosperous member of the community. Additionally, he held several positions, including first postmaster, council member and eventually mayor of the island. He and his wife had six daughters.
Speaker 1:One evening, one of the Dollar's daughters left quietly to enjoy some of the nightlife. Olga Dollar, I'm sorry. Yeah, olga Dollar, the Put-In-Bay Colonial, a massive entertainment hall on the island, at this time. During her trek home she fell into the water, so she yelped for help. Fortunately she avoided death. However, her actions enraged Valentine Dollar. From that moment on he forbade his daughters to marry. This new ruling was very difficult for the sisters to bear. One daughter, daisy, eventually moved to a home next to the mansion. For the rest of their lives the family remained on the island. Today they rest at the Crown Hill Cemetery in the Family Mausoleum. It's believed the spirits of the anguished daughter still run amok in the Dollar Mansion. Reports indicate that they still peer from the windows longingly looking for love. Today the Dollar Mansion is home to the Put-in-Bay Winery.
Speaker 1:The Crew's Nest is the premier social club on Put-in-Bay. Here members can enjoy a fine meal, a swim in the large pool and much more. Originally the property opened as the Eagle Cottage. Moreover, the property finished construction in 1875. The first owner, captain FJ Maggle, ran a steamboat that provided services to the island. Then, in 1946, the property was sold and renamed the Friendly Inn. Here guests found lodging and a home-cooked meal. Today the club boasts improved faculties thanks to many improvements over the last 50 years. Workers at the crew's nest have noted strange noises coming from the attic. Also, they claim that things thrown up in the attic stairwell come back down by an unknown force. The entity has a name, spencer.
Speaker 1:So it appears there is some evidence to suggest that the Put-in-Bay paranormal activity is present. With such a storied past with colorful characters, this comes as no surprise. If Walls could talk, they would shed interesting insights on the former residents of the island. Also, they would give us a better understanding as to why these spirits are still present today. This is yet another layer of the interesting island of Put-In-Bay.
Speaker 1:So you guys, stay tuned for part two of this episode. I am going to play some live evidence that we got through apps and I am going to replay a lot evidence that we got through apps and I am going to replay a lot that I got from the iPad and again, hopefully it works. I hope the spirits didn't screw that up too, but you know anything paranormal? They like to mess with technology. All right, you guys, thanks for listening. Tune in for some more and you can get ahold of us at ghost sisters 21, 24 at Gmail. Again, that's ghost sisters 21, 24 at Gmail, if you look up. Strange, strange, beyond insane.
Speaker 1:This podcast is on all platforms that you here and you can. When you look this up, you'll see her picture. She loves. She carries podcast cards with her all the time. I don't even do that. She's like I said, she's my right arm. So if you guys ever get a chance to go, stay at the haunted putt in bay, ohio, you guys, I highly recommend it. Um, when it opens back up, we will definitely be back there um next season in the spring and uh, yeah, so we'll. We will have part two up very soon with all the rest of the evidence. Talk to you soon.
