Alright, good evening everyone. It's Melissa, your host at Strange, strange Band, sane, and tonight I have an episode that I want to touch base on. So we have been out to the cemetery twice now. Once I went out with Christina this was just a little over a week ago and we ran into some fellow ghost hunters, paranormal enthusiasts, whatever you want to call them and it's crazy how we just hit it off with all of them. It was the uncle his name's David, his nephew was there, romero and Romero's girlfriend, and then David's wife Ashley and Romero's girlfriend, jojo. So David, romero, ashley and JoJo, and they were great and they really enjoyed using my equipment and we hung out.
Speaker 1:But anyways, before I get into all that, I'm talking about the hidden, mystical, mystical stoneage, sunken garden cemetery in Fenton Michigan. Now I want to jump forward. I just recently went out with one of our other team members, tom, just him and I. The night before Thanksgiving, and actually because of Tom, because I wouldn't have paid any attention to the other side we went through a smaller little gated cemetery that I thought was part of that cemetery. So the other night I actually learned that there's three separate cemeteries. Okay, so again, this is in Fenton Michigan. Now I'm going to read you a little bit of the backstory, all right, so this place is in the middle of the woods, it's just south of Fenton and it basically is describing how to get there. So you go down White Lake Road east, past the Tyrone memory gardens, past the kneeling statue, down a dirt road, in over an old wooden bridge. So this stoneage that they're talking about, it sits along Runyon Creek behind the sunken garden cemetery.
Speaker 1:So the sunken garden cemetery is where we went first and Romero Dave's nephew was just, so like just intrigued by this stoneage little part in the backwoods, so he was showing us aerial shots of it and I was like, wow, that's crazy, like I've never seen anything like that, especially in Michigan, however, the first time we went back there. So it's basically like a like a seasonal road. It is gated off and there is one sign that says no trespassing. Now, that's up to the side on the left that I seen. So I'm guessing, obviously, that someone's property back there. But where we were walking, I believe, is like state land because there's benches back there, you know, on the little river.
Speaker 1:So the first thing that we spotted was this witch's tree, supposed witch tree. I was puzzled by it. It's huge, massive, very scary, very eerie. David said that it's supposedly 300 years old. So, anyways, we get by this tree right before the bridge and David one of the guys that we were with started digging leaves up and found this grave and it was like right over the roots of the tree. And I literally said to him I go, how the hell did you know that was there? And he's like I didn't. I just, for whatever reason, my brain told me to do it. Okay. So on this grave it reads Samson S-A-M-S-O-N, and then underneath, in quote unquote, it says da-d-a. Space boy B-O-Y. Originally I thought that maybe that'sa dog, but our friend Tom said that he thinks it's a child.
Speaker 1:So anyways, right past there is this bridge. So we started walking to the bridge and I got a really uneasy feeling with them and all of a sudden this loud oh my gosh, lost my breath a little bit talking about it this loud noise. They all thought it was a gunshot, shooting guns for a while. Now, being an avid shooter, I don't think it was a gunshot To me it dissipated way too quickly. I didn't realize that until we got everyone out that I believe that something was pounding on that bridge. Now I didn't look up anything else about the bridge, I was kind of just like, well, this is weird. So Christina and I later were going through pictures and we were realizing that everyone's faces were morphing.
Speaker 1:So this article reads about the kneeling statue. So that is in the back of sunken cemetery I'm sorry, sunken garden cemetery, towards where that back road is. Now the weird thing is is that there's three stone-age walls, like little small walls, okay, and the back of them are facing the cemetery. So you have to walk behind and then all a sudden there's the Moses statue praying downwards and then in that stone-age it says I am and it reads you know Moses, you know like his theory on why he would not look up. Right, but I will have that on videos on them and a play back later through, like other episodes. So this is saying that it's Tyrone sunken garden that has been designed in a stone-age mode made up of stone from all 50 states. Each stone has their state, moto and the flower engraved. Some of the stones found here had been from hundreds of years ago.
Speaker 1:The garden itself was created sometime between 1930 and 1935 by Charles Eugene Smith. Aside from the stones it's used, I'm sorry. It used to be a place to come play miniature golf, see peacocks and ride a small train. Now Tom was kind of excuse me, going over with me, like the peacocks are supposed to be like good luck, and it was supposed to be kind of like a like a happy place, right? So there's a huge stone that visitors first come across that has an inscription by Smith that reads after having traveled around the world four different times and visited parts of Europe, asia, north America, south America, north and South Africa, australia and the islands of New Zealand, tasmania, st Helena, canary, fiji, ceylon, iceland, hawaii, philippines, newfoundland, faroe, I think, and many others, and considering the famous rock gardens of Iceland and the sunken gardens of London, england and Mexico City the most beautiful I contribute this memorial on my memory to this small garden. So really cool.
Speaker 1:Now, if you look at this from an aerial view, now, if you look this cemetery up, you will eventually see an aerial view, this stone edge in the back. It actually looks like an eye and it's got like it's supposedly a portal. So right here it says looking at it from an aerial view, it resembles a diamond shaped object or maybe an alien spaceship with eight sections. The sections are divided by stone pathways that all lead to the center. Because of its unique mystical design, some groups have come here hoping to experience something otherworldly or other inner-worldly too. Also, the eeriness of the grounds have some people believing there is something paranormal going on in there. It may or may not be open to the public at this time, but either way, adhere to any no trespassing signs and do not vandalize. All in all, it's an extremely interesting place to visit and it just might make you awestruck.
Speaker 1:So In the beginning, when you walk through here, there's a stone that reads Tyrone sunken garden cemetery. It's very, very overgrown now. So an inside the design like to me. There's a reason why it was placed like this, obviously, and the pathway is going to each stone edge. To me from Ariel looks like spacecraft mixed with an eye. So here's some of the. You know quotes or you know even wording from the graves From Plymouth granite ledge, vermont 1825. How it looked in the 1940s. It was well, well, well kept up and now it's it's. It's really, really freaky to me because you don't know how far back that is and, being in that deep of woods and seeing how overgrown it is, you don't know who's back there and obviously the living scare is more than the dead.
Speaker 1:Now, when you first get into the cemetery, before you go in the back, it's a very I guess I would say like a biblical place. The statue, when you first come in, the middle of the road, is actually Jesus hanging on the cross, and Then you know I think it's Joseph getting him like from the ladder, pulling him up by rope, and then Mary is Bowing down and praying and then right to the right of that there is an angel, very, very detailed. All the statues are painted with like a bronze paint, like a bronzey gold beautiful. There's a lot of different grave sites out there. One grave we seen was a hand, like etched wooden cross, and they were definitely Hispanic. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful artwork. The first night I went out there I did see a rosary handmade rosary sculpted, and it was probably the size of like two really big truck tires and it was all um carved out of stone. It was like absolutely beautiful. There's a lot of very unique things about this cemetery Not many ways to get in and out, like even like the pathways.
Speaker 1:There's only like one main path and then the rest you pretty much have to get out and walk. So, all in all, I can't. I Can't really say that it's haunted, I can't say there's a lot of paranormal With that part. However, what happened that night in the back part scared the hell out of me and Because we were with beginners and one of the girls started to cry and got really scared. So you know, you obviously want to get them out real quick. And Then recent, when I went with Tom, the cemetery next to that, that scared that like that, literally scared me to the to the bone. I mean, there is definitely something there. Again, it was totally overlooked by us. I didn't even know that was a separate cemetery. It's extremely small, but I will get into that in the next episode.
Speaker 1:But again, this is called sunken garden cemetery and it's in Fenton Michigan and it's hidden and mystical and very eerie. So if you guys can get out there and check it out, I would not, definitely would not recommend going over that bridge at nighttime. Again, do your and like do your research and find the information and watch the videos on YouTube, because the bridge is broke and the middle part of it is missing now and there is water underneath of it. Now the creek looks to be very shallow, but right now, like in Michigan, it's obviously like 30 degrees out 20 degrees. So I would definitely wait till daylight to go back there and see, and I honestly I don't know how far back that stone edge part is. But we will be chatting soon for the next parts and I'll be talking to you guys soon.
